New Moon Psychedelic Retreats, listed elsewhere as New Moon Retreats, is a psilocybin retreat in “a large house in the Dutch countryside” near Creil, in the Noordoostpolder municipality of Flevoland, according to a 2021 directory listing republished by a Psychable mirror. That listing names no one, describes “experienced facilitators and a registered nurse,” mindfulness and meditation training and a shared taxi from Lelystad station, and says retreats were “postponed due to COVID.” Its Tripadvisor page has no reviews. Against that, no founder, facilitator, legal entity, price, program or review could be confirmed from any source, the nurse is unnamed, no screening or emergency plan is published, the region has no local emergency department, and no dated activity was found since 2021.

🔍 Critical Notes

Screening and medical support. The only safety claim is an unnamed “registered nurse” from 2021. No questionnaire, contraindication list, integration plan or emergency protocol is published. The Noordoostpolder and Urk area has no emergency department, with the nearest hospitals in Sneek, Heerenveen, Meppel and Zwolle, according to an Urk council motion of January 2025.

Who runs it. No founder, facilitator or Dutch company (KvK) record was found. Directory data names psychedelicretreat.org as its website, while our earlier profile cited newmoonretreats.org.

Legal context. Psilocybin mushrooms were placed under the Dutch Opium Act in 2008, according to the parliamentary record, but truffles were not included and remain legal, as Resident reported in 2026. Retreats are not licensed.

Corrections to our earlier profile. All third-party listings use the name New Moon Retreats. Founder John Robertson, facilitators John and Maria, operation since 2013, four to five-day retreats, $1,800 for five days, groups of up to 10, organic meals, yoga, breathwork, integration circles, post-retreat check-ins, a setting near Almere and testimonials on newmoonretreats.org and psychedelicexperience.net remain unverified. The Flevoland location, psilocybin and meditation are confirmed.

🆘 Screening & Mental Health Risks

No screening or contraindications are published. Psilocybin can interact with some psychiatric medications, including lithium, and is generally not advised for people with a personal or family history of psychosis or bipolar disorder. Never stop a psychiatric medication to qualify for a retreat without your prescriber’s guidance.

🧪 Brew Substance

The listing describes psilocybin; in the Netherlands this is legal only as truffles. Psilocybin is the active compound of magic mushrooms and truffles, as Erowid explains.
