🛡️ About Our Accreditation Program
Best Retreats Accreditation is a fee-based program operated by The Retreat Safety Project, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The program is structured in three tiers based on the size of the participating retreat operation, so the same standards are accessible to small independent facilitators and larger multi-location centers alike.
Accreditation fees fund the independent safety research that powers our public retreat directory. No retreat is required to pay anything to be listed or reviewed on Best Retreats. Trust grades, incident reports, and listing content are determined independently and are not influenced by accreditation status.

Who Can Apply
The accreditation program is open to retreat operations that meet the program’s safety, screening, facilitator vetting, and incident-disclosure standards. Tiers are based on the size of the operation:
- Solo facilitators running small private ceremonies
- Boutique retreat centers operating their own facility
- Multi-location retreat organizations operating across multiple sites or countries
Eligibility is reviewed on a per-application basis. Meeting the size criteria for a tier does not guarantee acceptance – the operational standards review is the determining factor.
Program Tiers
Accreditation is offered in three tiers based on the size of the participating operation. Specific dues amounts are provided to applicants during the eligibility review and depend on operational details that vary case by case.
| Retreat Type | Monthly Revenue | Plan Name |
|---|---|---|
| Solo Operator / Bare Bones | Less than $20k/mo | Basic Tier |
| Small Retreat Business | $20k–$100k/month | Growth Tier |
| Large Multi-Retreat Org | $100k+/month | Enterprise Tier |

What Accreditation Includes
All accredited centers receive the following program services regardless of tier:
- Online reputation monitoring across Reddit, Quora, Google reviews, ICEERS reports, news, and other public sources, with notification when issues surface
- Incident and complaint resolution support — neutral third-party handling of guest complaints
- Mediation and arbitration access for complaints that escalate beyond resolution
- Ad review and ethical marketing checks — review of marketing claims that could put participants at risk or violate platform policies
- Verification badge for use on the center’s listing and own materials
- Monthly program reports including a summary of monitoring activity and any flagged concerns
Trust grades are determined independently by the research team based on publicly available information, incident disclosures, and community reports. Accreditation status does not influence trust grades.

Yes. You can adjust your plan as your retreat grows or scales back.
Q: What happens after I apply?
A member of the program team reviews your application against the eligibility standards, may request additional information about your operation, and provides specific dues information for your tier. If approved, onboarding begins with a baseline reputation review and configuration of monitoring.
