Reviews
The energy of the place is so pure—it feels like the jungle itself is guiding you through your journey. The shamans and facilitators were incredibly attentive and made sure everyone felt supported before, during, and after the ceremonies.
The ayahuasca sessions were deeply transformative. The first night, the music and icaros guided me through an experience of immense healing, while the second night was more introspective, allowing for deep reflection. Every aspect of the retreat felt intentional and rooted in tradition.
Beyond the ceremonies, the environment is stunning. Waking up to the sounds of the rainforest, walking along the river, and simply being in nature added to the healing process. The food was healthy and delicious, and I met some incredible people along the way.
This retreat was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly authentic ayahuasca journey.
Sacha Wasi is nothing short of magical. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed by the kind-hearted staff and the breathtaking beauty of the jungle. The ceremonies were incredibly powerful, guided by experienced shamans who held the space with deep wisdom and care. The music, chanting, and icaros created an atmosphere that allowed for profound healing and transformation.
The accommodations were simple but comfortable, exactly what I needed to disconnect and focus on my journey. The meals were nourishing and prepared with love. I also appreciated how connected the retreat is to the local community—there’s a genuine respect for tradition and the land.
If you’re looking for an authentic, safe, and deeply moving ayahuasca experience, this is the place. I left with a renewed sense of purpose and clarity, and I can’t wait to return.
The ayahuasca ceremonies here were deeply transformative. The first night was especially powerful, with beautiful music played live throughout the ceremony. The shamans created a safe and sacred space, and the entire experience felt authentic and intentional.
However, I was surprised that the second ceremony had a completely different approach. The staff left shortly after it began, and we were left in total silence. For me, this made the experience less immersive. I later found out this was intentional, but I personally would have preferred the same level of guidance and support as the first night.
One other downside was the pricing of extra items. Handmade crafts and other goods sold by the local community were significantly more expensive than expected. While I understand supporting the local economy, the prices felt much higher than what’s typical in Ecuador.
Overall, I had a profound experience, and the staff was warm and welcoming. A bit more consistency in the ceremonies and clearer communication about costs would make this retreat even better.
Transportation was one of the biggest problems—pricing wasn’t clearly communicated, and it seemed like different people were given different rates. I also found it odd that they claimed card payments were accepted, but when we arrived, it was cash only.
Another issue was scheduling. The itinerary was shared via WhatsApp, but at one point, the WiFi was down, and many of us missed important updates. This led to confusion about when and where we were supposed to be.
Despite these hiccups, the ceremonies themselves were worth it, and I left feeling grateful for the experience. If they could improve the organization, this would be a five-star retreat.
My time at Sacha Wasi was deeply transformative, and overall, I had a positive experience. The ceremonies were powerful, and the shamans created a safe and sacred space for healing. The jungle setting is breathtaking, adding to the depth of the journey. The facilitators were kind and knowledgeable, and I felt well-supported throughout the process.
However, there were a few logistical issues that could be improved. Communication before the retreat was a bit unclear, which led to some confusion about transportation and scheduling. Additionally, while the accommodations were comfortable, they were more rustic than I expected—totally fine for me, but something to be aware of if you’re looking for a more polished experience.
That said, the heart of this retreat—the medicine, the shamans, and the connection to nature—was absolutely incredible. I’m grateful for the experience and would recommend it to those looking for an authentic, traditional ayahuasca journey.
