AYAHUASCA WORKSHOPS
11-day, 10-night retreats under the loving guidance of onayabo (shamans) from the Shipibo tribe of the Peruvian Amazon. The Shipibo have long maintained a powerful connection to medicinal plants and the spirit world, and they share with us a unified vision of all life and beings that can be at once challenging and soothing to the Western mind. This viewpoint is represented in their distinct art (patterns known as kenĂ©) and songs, or icaros. The Shipibo are guardians of a profound worldview, and they walk their path alongside the healing plants and spirits with which they are allied. We are fortunate that they share their knowledge, guidance, and protection with us, the Pandorita family.Â

TAKE A RIDE TROUGHT THE MAGIC OF PANDORITA♡Â
THEÂ Â ONAYABO

Sankena (Mama Mica)
Mama Mica will join us for December 2024 through April 2025. Mama Mica is an esteemed medicine woman from a long healing tradition. Her most important ally is the mighty Marosa plant, and she has also dieted Bobinsana, Piñon Colorado, Canela and Renaquilla. Her dedication, love, and laughter are contagious, and her shamanic power is profound, bringing potent healing. With her penetrating icaros, she pulls our deepest suffering to the surface and washes it away. Through these difficult moments, participants rely on her unwavering maternal strength. Her presence is a gift for Pandorita, and she truly reflects the spirit of the land. Love, courage, knowledge, creativity and so much humor flow from Mama Mica every day. You can’t help but love her and want to be around her! But make no mistake, she is fiercely strong, a jaguar spirit whose physical strength can be felt during massages, whose piercing gaze brings light to what wishes to hide, and whose spiritual strength is a sight to behold.

Ronin Kea (Luis)
Ronin Kea will be at Pandorita from December 2024 through April 2025. Ronin Kea is the son of Mama Mica. Together, they bring an incredible bond full of light, healing, and positive energy to the ceremony. In his own right, Ronin Kea is an incredible healer who is visited often by the people of his village for healing. His life’s mission is to heal, soothe, and empower people. His icaros and chants are extraordinary. They are both extremely powerful and highly varied – sometimes, it sounds like a woman has appeared before you to sing. Both his icaros and his laughter are truly a gift. Ronin Kea has also completed many dietas, including renaquilla, ayahuma, selvia, marosa, piñon blanco, bobinsana, nihue rao, tobacco, toĂ©, albaca, and agua florida.

Pinon Nihuwe (Juan)
Juan will be at Pandorita from October 25 to December 23, 2024. Juan is Mama Mica’s brother and, like her, has a wealth of experience. He has been working with plant medicines for 25 years and has conducted well over 25 plant diets. Pinon Nihuwe’s Icaros catapult participants into another dimension as his powerful voice penetrates all levels. Juan is used to leading large groups on his own. He has a very disciplined lifestyle, which is why his spiritual strength is very pronounced. He is responsible, persevering and has good judgment. He also has the gift of reading people well and interacting with them. Under pressure, he rises above himself.

Rey Mano (Julio)
Julio has been with the Pandorita-Ani Shinan family since the beginning. He is our fluent Shipibo-to-Spanish translator, a talent that is rare to find. Julio serves as an incredible bridge between the shamanic and western ways of viewing the world. There are many healers in his own family line, and this upbringing and knowledge serve him well when supporting foreigners in their process.
Reviews
My week at Pandorita Ayahuasca was a series of unpredictable peaks and valleys that challenged me to confront every corner of my emotional landscape. The setting—raw, lush, and infinitely wild—provided a dramatic backdrop for ceremonies that were as brutally honest as they were liberating. I experienced moments of exultant clarity when my deepest fears were laid bare, alongside periods of overwhelming intensity that left me gasping for balance. The energy of the retreat was undeniably potent, yet I sometimes felt that the pace between sessions was a bit too erratic. There were times when I longed for a more measured integration process to help me stitch together the fragments of insight. Still, the journey gifted me with transformative lessons that continue to ripple through my life, even if the ride was occasionally too turbulent for my taste.
I found myself immersed in an experience at Pandorita that felt like stepping into another realm. The energy here is tangible—a blend of ancient rhythm and vibrant natural beauty that speaks directly to your soul. One ceremony, held under a canopy of softly shimmering leaves, unraveled layers of emotions I’d long kept hidden. I recall feeling as if the very essence of the earth was whispering secrets of healing into my heart. The process was both intense and gentle; every ritual was crafted with an authenticity that allowed me to let go and rediscover parts of myself I’d forgotten. In those sacred moments, the raw power of the medicine brought clarity, joy, and a sense of profound release. I emerged from Pandorita transformed, carrying with me a luminous new perspective that continues to guide my every step.
One unforgettable afternoon, amid the vibrant hues and hushed sounds of the jungle, I experienced a metamorphosis at Pandorita Ayahuascas. The retreat’s atmosphere feels like an invitation from the earth itself—an unspoken promise of renewal. In a ceremony that seemed to stretch time itself, I found that my tears became a language of liberation, as deep-seated pain melted away under the gentle insistence of the ritual. Every moment was layered with intensity: the pulsating rhythm of the instruments, the subtle interplay of light and shadow, and the warmth of a shared silence that bound us together as a community of seekers. Leaving Pandorita, I carried not only a sense of clarity and inner light but also the wisdom that true healing comes from embracing vulnerability. This journey was nothing short of a soul rebirth.
Pandorita is not for the faint of heart—it’s a raw, culturally immersive voyage into the depths of one’s soul. The retreat’s environment is stark and beautiful, where every rustling leaf and distant call of the wild carries the weight of centuries. I found that the ceremonies, imbued with indigenous wisdom, were both a mirror and a window—forcing me to face my inner demons while offering glimpses of ancient healing traditions. Although the experience was profoundly intense, there were moments when the structure felt less supportive; the group discussions, while honest, sometimes lacked the personalized touch needed after such fierce emotional release. Despite that, the authenticity and power of the journey left me with insights that were as brutal as they were beautiful. It’s an experience that challenged every preconception I had about healing.
Embarking on the journey at Pandorita Ayahuascas, I was struck by the sheer potency of the ceremonies. The retreat’s setting is undeniably captivating—a wild, untamed space that promises deep introspection. I experienced vivid emotional breakthroughs that momentarily shattered my internal walls, revealing raw insights about my past. However, the overall process felt inconsistent; while some rituals were meticulously profound, others seemed rushed and left me grappling with unprocessed feelings. The integration sessions often felt like hurried group exchanges, not quite tailored to the intensity of my experiences. As a result, while I gained valuable glimpses into my inner world, I also walked away with a sense of unfinished business. If you’re prepared for a journey that may require additional personal effort to truly integrate its lessons, you might find some benefit—but be aware that the path can be uneven and demanding.
