💬 Guests Say

  • Authentic Healing: Tripadvisor (2023) praises the “life-changing” ceremonies, with Don Guido’s icaros and the black vine brew helping guests purge stuck energy, though some found the rustic setup challenging.
  • Family Atmosphere: Quora notes the familial vibe, with Enrique and Walter creating a “safe, welcoming” space in Santa Maria, but a Reddit post (2021) mentions a shaman’s lack of engagement (no icaros for 3 hours).
  • Jungle Immersion: Best Retreats highlights the Amazon setting, with guests on a retreat platform loving the boat ride, Monkey Island trip, and indigenous village visit, though some felt larger groups (10) reduced personal attention.

🚩 Incident Report

After a thorough investigation across multiple platforms—including Reddit (r/Ayahuasca), Quora, Tripadvisor, Google, Facebook groups (“Psychedelic Healing,” “Ayahuasca Experiences”), news outlets, retreat forums, and ICEERS reports—no verified incidents of theft, sexual misconduct, or crime directly linked to La Luna del Amazonas were identified.
  • Theft: No reports on Reddit, Quora, Tripadvisor, or Google mention stolen items at La Luna del Amazonas.
  • Sexual Misconduct: No allegations against La Luna’s staff were found in online discussions or ICEERS resources.
  • Crime: No police reports or violent incidents tied to La Luna were found in Google News, Peruvian media, or retreat forums.
La Luna del Amazonas maintains a clean online reputation, with positive feedback on Tripadvisor (2023) and Best Retreats emphasizing safety. A Reddit post (2021) noted a lackluster ceremony (shaman not singing icaros for 3 hours), but this does not constitute misconduct or crime.

🔍 Critical Notes

La Luna del Amazonas in Santa Maria, near Iquitos, offers an authentic Shipibo experience, praised on Best Retreats and Tripadvisor for its healing ceremonies, family-like care, and jungle immersion with activities like Monkey Island visits. Quora notes its safe vibe, but a 2021 Reddit post flags a subpar ceremony (shaman disengaged), and the lack of 2025 dates raises concerns about current operations. Ayahuasca’s legal status in Peru is ambiguous despite cultural use, so confirm retreat dates, shaman involvement, and safety protocols directly before booking.

Ayahuasca Retreats

Our ayahuasca retreat program is thoughtfully designed to provide you with an ideal healing experience, allocating ample time for meditation, self-reflection, and the integration of the profound experiences you will encounter during your stay. By prioritizing these essential components of the healing journey, we foster an environment that supports healing, personal growth, transformation, and lasting positive change.

We firmly believe that maintaining small, familiar group sizes is key to ensuring a powerful and personalized healing experience. By limiting our retreats to a maximum of 10 guests, we are able to facilitate in-depth group sharings with the shamans and they will provide individual energetic healing sessions for each participant during every ceremony. This level of attention and care would not be possible in larger groups, and we are committed to upholding this intimate setting to optimize your healing journey.
