My husband and I came to Iboga Tree Healing House together—he was battling addiction, and I wanted to support him while doing some personal work of my own.
Let me say this: For addiction, this place is absolutely top-tier. My husband had a life-changing experience. He came out of the medicine knowing exactly where his addiction started, and for the first time in years, I saw hope in his eyes. The staff was amazing, especially Jamie, who guided him through every step of the process.
For me, though? Not so much. I don’t have an addiction history, and while I was hoping for deep personal insights, my experience was mostly just… disorienting. The visions were chaotic, and I felt stuck in a loop rather than gaining clarity. I left feeling exhausted and drained rather than healed.
The facilities were also a bit too spartan for my taste. I get that it’s about the medicine, but the accommodations were pretty barebones, and I would have appreciated a little more comfort.
Would I recommend it? If you’re struggling with addiction—100%. If you’re coming for general healing, I’d say do your research first. This medicine isn’t for everyone.
