ABOUT US

Ayahuasca has been used for centuries by the Amazon Indians as a traditional medicine.
It is possible, through medicine, to cure several diseases that are well known to the western eye because they are “impossible” to be treated according to what medical science teaches us.
Some of these are AIDS, cancer, diabetes, sclerosis, depression, sexual impair. alcoholism, drug addiction, fears, traumas and scares, etc.
An endless list of diseases for an endless list of plants that heal.
It is here, in the heart of the Amazon, that we will seek healing.
Hernan Romas Lomas , healer doctor from the Peruvian Amazon, indigenous shaman of the Shipibo-Conibo tribe from the city of Pucallpa,
At the time he began to learn from an early age, at the age of 7 his father (according to Romas, a fairly famous healer from the city of Pucallpa) took him to the mountains (the so-called virgin forest to Peruvians) where he began to learn medicine, alone, at the age of 13 he was already considered a master.
He has more than 30 years of experience within Traditional Amazonian Medicine, currently he is divided into work in Peru and Mexico where he leads Retreats several times a year.
This is a rare opportunity to meet one of the best and true shamans currently alive, this Lord is pure light in the Universe, an authentic guardian and pillar of knowledge.
Also working with him are his wife, Rosaura Cairuna, and his sons Tony Romas and Wilder Romas.
Illnesses can be physical, psychological or spiritual, and for each of them, there is a specific treatment based on natural plants and diets:
– Ayahuasca ceremonies;
– Retreats / Diets and treatments with master plants;
– Flowering baths;
– Spiritual bindings;
– Perfumes and Pusangas;
– Cleaning, cutting and protection against bad energies;
– Shamanic learning;
– Etc.
MASTER PLANTS
The healer is always the first and last to have a say in the treatment of the patient.
It is he, and by himself, who chooses the plants that the patient will take or diet.
However, the basic plants of shamanic learning and healing are:

Ayahuma – tree from the Amazon region used for spiritual protection and against all black magic. Known and respected for being one of the strongest master sticks in existence.
It is part of shamanic learning. (Diet only for advanced users)
Chiric Sanango – master plant, used for rheumatism, warms the body, develops the muscular body, combats fears, etc.
Achuni Sanango – master plant, used to remove body cold, and especially to develop man’s virility, gives more strength, impotence problems.
Renaquilla – main plant, doctor of the body, osteopath or bonesetter.
This plant works on the physical body of the human being, it works on the skin, it becomes more beautiful when seen by others, it is used for spiritual ties.
Bobinsana  – a plant that works on the mental and emotional side of the patient. Spiritually it represents water, one of its spirits is a mermaid, who can live in and out of water.
Medicinally the plant works on rheumatism problems, etc.
It is an essential plant for shamanic learning, it gives strength, protection and opens the third vision, the so-called third eye.
Ubos – complete doctor, works on parts of the body, used for stomach problems, intestines, sexual impotence, etc.
Piñon Colorado – used for defense against witchcraft and black magic. Protects the master from spiritual attacks.
Cat’s Claw – In the mountains, the rope of this plant is cut to drink water directly from it. The plant is used for inflammations in the body, intestines, etc.
Its spirit is a tiger, hence the name of cat’s claw.
ToĂ© / Floripondio  – The divination plant, requires a restricted diet of about 8 months. It is a complete plant and teaches you all kinds of medicine. Its leaves are generally used in conjunction with Ayahuasca to give vision to the master.
Diet only for advanced users.
Sacha Garlic – The leaves are used in baths to remove Saladera (bad luck).

Mapacho – or jungle tobacco, is used to purify the patient, cleanse and protect. If Ayahuasca is called the mother of the jungle, tobacco is called the Father, as both work together in traditional Amazonian medicine. It can also be used as a diet.

Plant of life – plant that cures cancer.

Plants for Flowering Baths / Perfumes and Pusangas

Follow me Follow me – plant used for flowering baths, spiritual bindings and perfumes.

Dog’s Tongue – plant used for flowering baths, spiritual bindings and perfumes.

Basil – plant used for flowering baths, spiritual bindings and perfumes.

Shamanic knowledge is endless. Don Hernan works with more plants, but these are the bases of learning.  Among others there are: Chullachaki caspi, Lupuna, Ajoskiro, Chuchuhuasi, Uchu Sanango, Mucura, Tamamuri, Catahua, Miel de Abejas, etc.
Reviews
My time at nishi rao was an intense dive into my emotional depths. The ceremonies delivered moments of catharsis that challenged me to face long-suppressed memories, and there were instances when I felt a rush of powerful insight that redefined my understanding of myself. However, while the overall energy was transformative, I sometimes found the integration sessions a bit too generic. I craved more personalized support to help weave the powerful revelations into my everyday life. Despite this, the raw, immersive nature of the experience left me with significant breakthroughs and a genuine desire to continue my healing journey. With a little more tailored follow-up, I believe this retreat could be even more life-changing.
There was a moment during a late-night ceremony that completely shifted my inner landscape. I had come to nishi rao at a time when nothing felt authentic in my life, and what I experienced here changed that narrative. Amid the soft glow of ambient lights and the quiet murmur of ancient chants, I felt years of emotional armor dissolve, revealing parts of my true self I’d long hidden away. The experience was raw and honest, with each ritual unfolding like a chapter in a personal epic—intense, sometimes overwhelming, but ultimately liberating. The support during integration was deeply personal, with one-on-one discussions that helped me process the powerful insights. I now carry forward a renewed sense of clarity and hope, a transformation that feels both profound and lasting.
I embarked on my journey at nishi rao with high expectations for deep healing, and while there were powerful moments that unlocked hidden parts of my inner self, the overall experience felt uneven. The ceremonies were intense and sometimes breathtaking, revealing emotional depths that left me momentarily transformed. Yet, I often struggled to find a consistent path to integrate those revelations into my daily life. The group sessions, though genuine, sometimes felt too rushed or impersonal, leaving many questions unresolved. There were also a few logistical hiccups that interrupted the flow of the journey. While the potent medicine and raw energy were undeniable, the fragmented follow-through left me with a sense of unfinished business. If you’re highly self-motivated and comfortable with a less structured process, you might extract value—but for me, the experience felt incomplete.
In a setting where every sound of the wind seemed to carry a whisper of ancient wisdom, I found a transformative experience at nishi rao that felt like a luminous dance of spirit and nature. I remember one ceremony when the interplay of rhythmic drums and gentle vocals drew out a deep well of emotion—a surge of vulnerability that led to an unexpected burst of inner joy. Each ritual was unique, a delicate balance between intensity and grace that allowed me to surrender to the healing process completely. The environment, with its unassuming beauty and soulful energy, created a space where I could explore my inner depths without fear. By the end of the retreat, I emerged with a heart renewed and a mind sparkling with clarity—a truly celestial journey of healing.
The experience at nishi rao was filled with moments that felt truly transformative—a series of ceremonies that pulled me into the raw core of my emotions. I encountered intense, unfiltered revelations that challenged my long-held beliefs and left me questioning everything in a powerful, yet inspiring way. That said, there were instances when the overall flow seemed a bit unstructured. Transitions between the high-energy rituals and the subsequent group discussions occasionally left me feeling a bit adrift, as if I needed more one-on-one guidance to fully anchor the insights. Still, the authenticity of the space and the heartfelt connection with fellow participants provided a solid foundation for healing. It’s a potent experience that, with slight refinements in pacing, could deliver an even more cohesive journey.
